Elon Musk Discusses The Future World With Smart Robots, And The Problems Humans May Face

CEO Elon Musk mentioned in his talk at the World Government Summit in Dubai, the importance and the relation of smart robots in the future life of humanity. Though, it's quite easy to guess that Musk must have shared the crucial help of innovation to the planet in his speech, he has also claimed his deeper principles and concerns about the future. Musk discussed how people's dependence on technology and artificial intelligence would affect our lives during the launch of Tesla cars in the United Arab Emirates. He said goods and services will be cheaper, and a kind of minimum global income would probably be implemented in the future world.

“It’s mostly about the bandwidth, the speed of the connection between your brain and the digital version of yourself, particularly output,” he said in his speech. It's clear that our dependence on machines grows every day that passes. The humanity couldn't help it when technology gives us convenience and efficiency. However, Musk mentioned that there is a gap between what humans can do and what machines are capable of doing; AI might become more productive than ours. “Some high bandwidth interface to the brain will be something that helps achieve a symbiosis between human and machine intelligence and maybe solves the control problem and the usefulness problem.” – he said.

"The future is here. Deal with it" -Musk

Musk believes that machines will become more and more skilled and efficient over the years. As a result, he predicted that consumables may escalate beyond the requirement, thus making them less costly. “I think we’ll end up doing universal basic income. It’s going to be necessary,” he suggested. If this kind of future takes place, the only conundrum is the psychological impact of a few jobs available for humans. “The much harder challenge is, how are people going to have meaning?” He said, he also thought about what would the future people be like if we already have all the comfort we need. Humans cannot live as couch potatoes for the rest of their lives. “A lot of people derive their meaning from their employment.” “So if there’s no need for your labor, what’s your meaning? Do you feel useless? That’s a much harder problem to deal with.” You can watch the whole talk in the video below: https://youtu.be/jBuLgBX2bKQ?t=6
