Elon Musk just announced its partnership with Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT) to create the swiftest train. Now it's South Korea's turn to unveil their similar plan.

The South Korean government just announced their near-future project about an almost supersonic train. Authorities say, this mode of transportation could cut a five hour journey into just 30 minutes.
Speaking to the South China Morning Post
, Korea Railroad Research Institute, a government-owned organisation said, “We hope to create an ultra-fast train, which will travel inside a state-of-the-art low-pressure tube at lightning speeds, in the not-too-distant future,”
“To that end, we will cooperate with associated institutes as well as Hanyang University to check the viability of various related technologies called the hyper-tube format over the next three years.”
South Korea's concept may be too similar to Musk's plan, however the Korea Railroad Research Institute goal is to surpass Hyperloop's abilities.
According to South Korea, they are planning to build a low-pressure tube where supersonic trains would levitate. Compared to other train concepts, this idea removes the friction on the wheels, which can slow down trains.
KRRI aren’t the only organization to be working on this next-generation technology. Private firms in the US and in Dubai are also working on their own versions called Hyperloop One and Hyperloop Transportation Technologies.
This sounds like a tough yet friendly competition for the innovators. Nevertheless, at last the world is moving towards a future where no one would curse traveling by train.
