Finally! A new contraceptive drug for men will be available soon. The Endocrine Society has now been studying the efficacy and safety of this drug that will come in injectable dosages.
Details of the drug are still unclear. However, it has been disclosed that the drug will be injected intramuscularly, and will be effective for 8 weeks.
According to studies, the drug will work its magic by "suppression of spermatogenesis." Meaning, it will stop the production of spermatozoa. Not sure how it will look like in the actual process, but surely, we don't need to feel daunted.
The contraceptive drug works on hormones. Hence, studies implied mild to moderate mood disorders can occur as a side effect. However, its contraceptive efficacy results are pretty good compared to other methods.
What makes the drug effective is the combination of active ingredients, norethisterone enanthate and testosterone undecanoate. Whatever those are, we should be grateful for its discovery. Men can soon take their own step not to overpopulate the planet. It may be the end of "You Are Not the Father" portions of television shows.
